Background

Network 2030 was established in January 2016 for the follow up of the adoption and the national implementation of the SDGs.

Functioning

The meetings of Network 2030 are jointly facilitated and coordinated by VENRO (the umbrella organisation of development and humanitarian aid NGOs in Germany) and Forum Umwelt und Entwicklung (organisation that coordinates German NGOs in international political processes on sustainable development and environmental issues).

Additional information

It monitors the National Sustainable Development Strategy.

NGO SDG Austausch - NGO SDG Exchange

Background

The NGO SDG exchange was established in January 2016 for the follow up of the adoption and national implementation of the SDGs. It gives detailed information on various SDG processes to its participants. While Network 2030 participants are exclusively umbrella organisations, this format gathers CSOs.

Functioning

The meetings of this group are jointly facilitated and coordinated by VENRO (the umbrella organisation of development and humanitarian aid NGOs in Germany) and Forum Umwelt und Entwicklung (organisation that coordinates German NGOs in international political processes on sustainable development and environmental issues).

Additional Information

One example of its past work: The format has been strengthened by the process leading up to the SDG Summit and publication of the SDG declaration. A core group of CSOs was meeting monthly and working strategically together towards the publication. More than 137 CSOs actively participated in this process.
